The thought of establishing an institute of higher education in Ode was propounded by Late Shantubhai Chunibhai Patel (former M.P. of Sabarkantha).Thus with the co-operation of the citizens of Ode, the Ode Education society was established in 1992. From the very beginning, shree Parmanand bhai Jamnadas Patel has been given the responsibility as a secretary. Thus with the help  from the donors like Shree Ramanbhai Devjibhai Patel, Shree Sureshbhai Shanabhai Patel, Shree Kanubhai Kashibhai Patel, Late shree Bhikhubhai Umedbhai Patel, Shreemati Kamlaben Bhailalbhai Patel and academic advisors like Dr.B.R.Patel,the decision to establish higher education society strengthened. The first institution was established in June 1993 as Shree D.M.Patel Arts and S.S.Patel Commerce College.

The founder president Late Shree Shantubhai Chunibhai Patel and the president who followed him Late Shree Bhikhubhai Umedbhai Patel laid the concrete foundation. The development of college has gathered momentum through the guidance of the current President Shree Dineshbhai Shantubhai Patel, Secretary Shree Parmanandbhai.J. Patel,Vice President Shree  Hiteshbhai Bhikhubhai Patel and the members of the governing body.

  
     
 

Currently the institutes managed by Shree Ode Education Society are as under: Shree D.M.Patel Arts & S.S.Patel Commerce college, Jamanadas Himabhai P.G.Centre,Kashibhai Gokalbhai Patel  B.Ed College, Shreemati Vimlaben Kanubhai Patel P.T.C college.

  
     
 

Ode college has got a prominent position in the Charotar Region. The college hosted the South Zone-II Gujarat University Youth Festival twice. The college shines out through organizing various seminars, convention, conferences, sport events, N.C.C, N.S.S, Co-curricular activities, Student development programmes, vocational courses.

  
     
 

The vision of the college is to build nation by providing opportunity of education to the  students of rural area. And the mission is to provide the opportunity of social equilibrium through education.

  
     
 

Through the co-operation of teaching faculty and administration staff, the college has established the proud system of holding examination in free atmosphere.

  
     
 

The president and secretary wish to develop this college campus as an institution of excellence. The attempts are on going to establish many new educational institutions, hostels, P.G Departments, Assembly and Conference hall and vocational courses.
